For more than seventy-five years, The Renaissance Society has chronicled countless innovations in the visual arts. At its founding in 1915, a horse and buggy were common means of transport, the Soviet Union had not yet been formed, and matisse was considered a threat to decency. Throughout this period of extraordinary social transformation, The Renaissance Society has reflected the questioning of each new generation. It has matured into a world-renowned institution, a place for education, reflection, and enjoyment.
