Fun-a-Day Exhibition AND Bookbinding Demo

Event Date:
Thursday, March 1, 2012 - 6:00pm

The Read/Write Library hosts the first annual Fun-A-Day Chicago
exhibition. Fun-A-Day Chicago builds on the Artclash Collective's
annual tradition (8 years strong) of organizing Fun-A-Day shows in
Philadelphia. This year, there will be 21 shows around the US and 2
international shows, all organized by local art collectives who have
adopted the project and started their own shows.

Fun-A-Day is a simple concept that produces beautiful results.
Participants choose a project and produce one piece of artwork every
day for the entire month of January. The 31 resulting pieces create a
narrative outlining each artist's journey through the first
month of the year. Projects vary from lighthearted to serious,
high-brow to low-brow. This year's list of mediums includes photos,
drawings, audio pieces, cooking projects, writing, mixtapes, and more.
Expect the library to be jam-packed with art!

During this event we will also be hosting traveling artist/writer Dave
Fain, who will teach a simple bookbinding technique in a hands-on
demo/workshop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QLDsZZyV9M&feature=youtu.be

The show is free, all-ages, and unjuried. Come out and see what your
friends (and future friends) have been up to during the first month of
2011!
