Book Release: Claiming a Body, short stories by Amanda Marbais

Please join us for the release of Amanda Marbais's debut collection, Claiming a Body, winner of the 2018 Moon City Short Fiction Award.
Readers will include Amanda Marbais, Jac Jemc, Sara Wainscott, and Mike Czyzniejewski.
The evening will be a celebration of fiction, poetry, and all things library!
We're hosted by Read / Write Library in Humboldt Park. Claiming a Body will also be a part of Read/Write's Hungry for Stories Book Club--"a book club about the Chicago point of view, as constructed (and demolished) by some of the city’s most divergent writers, artists, editors and publishers."
Amanda Marbais’s fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Hobart, Fugue, Joyland and elsewhere. She was featured in Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading series and in the New York Times Book Review. Her debut short story collection Claiming a Body won the 2018 Moon City Short Fiction Award.
Jac Jemc’s story collection False Bingo will be released in October 2019 and her novel Total Work of Art will be published in 2021, both from FSG. She is also the author of The Grip of It, My Only Wife and A Different Bed Every Time. She teaches creative writing at StoryStudio, The Loft Literary Center and The Center for Fiction.
Sara Wainscott is the author of a chapbook, Queen of the Moon (dancing girl press, 2017) and Insecurity System, forthcoming from Persea Books in 2020.
Michael Czyzniejewski’s most recent collection of stories is I Will Love You For the Rest of My Life: Breakup Stories (Curbside Splendor, 2015). He is an associate professor of English at Missouri State University, where he serves as Editor-in-Chief of Moon City Review and Managing and Literary Editor for Moon City Press.
