Poetry

Threshold is an annual literary magazine published by DePaul University. Contributors to the magazine are DePaul faculty, students, and staff.

Each issue of the zine is created by 7th and 8th grade middle school students in the Chicago area and features both prose and poetry. This issue (and its two predecessors) was a collaborative class project and includes pieces on memories, dreams, goals, and friendship.

"My Dad had the ability to write poetry. Before their marriage, he adopted the practice of writing a poetic New Year's letter to my Mom on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day capturing some of the events of the prior year and expressing hope for good things to come in the New Year. This book showcases work by two poets, Albert DeGenova and Charles Rossiter. It "combines prose memoirs supplying context with poems supplying the rhythm and pulse of real lives." The updated second edition contains 11 new poems and updated text.

Another Chicago Magazine is a literary magazine that publishes work by both new and established writers. We look for work that goes beyond the artistic and academic to include and address the larger world.
