Moshe's Healing Touch

Catalog Number:
Other, Moshe's Healing Touch
Date:
August 1976
Abstract:
Bruce Holmes is a runner who has chondromalacia of the knee, and he cannot run more than 50 miles a knee without his knees "fall[ing] apart on [him]." To deal with this, he refers to the writings of Moshe Feldenkrais, a "72-year old Israeli" who has a doctorate in physics, and the creator of a therapy based on his theories about human thought and the flaws therein. He suffered a debilitating knee injury which the doctors told him there was no solution for, and he came up with theories of his own regarding human musculature. He wrote up these theories in a book entitled The Body and Mature Behavior. The article tells of the author's relationship with Feldenkrais and how he came to be healed.
