Queer

This mixed media zine includes a slice of queer life in Berlin in the summer of 2013. Personal reflections, photography, flyers, and interviews provide perspectives into queer, particularly queer DIY and arts, communities and their current work.

In this zine, H. Melt interrogates "straight" as a word and as an identity. The experimental format presents a series of dictionary definitions involving permutations of "straight" (e.g., straight forward, straight shooter, straighten, straight and narrow, etc.) and lets the reader ponder the connotations.

H. Melt curates this collection of essays (mostly originally online), documenting a critical queer, nonfiction literary voice that is strongly rooted in Chicago. Themes include the need to talk more openly about race, class, and privilege, the power of community support, and the experience of living in Chicago. Builds on the work of Chicago-based queer publications like Chicago IRL, In Our Words, and others. (Adapted from Melt's introduction to the collection.)

Short, printed zine in which RICO MCTACO goes on a series of adventures with radical feminists centaurs and vikings.

Includes articles on the distribution of wealth, the status of Iraqi Kurds, a senate race against Jesse Helms, CIA influence on narcotic use, and a wide selection of book reviews. Written from a largely "leftist" perspective.

A young straight woman named Sharla moves to Chicago and is mistaken for a lesbian, Meredith, with whom she identical physically, but the opposite in personality. Initially disgusted that her &quot;doppelganer&quot; is queer, Sharla becomes more and more obsessed with Meredith's life, believing that the confident, popular Meredith stole the soul that was rightfully hers.<br />
